Located in the hills of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont,
Maplehurst Farm has been owned and operated by the Gebbie Family for
five generations. Holstein cows graze on the open fields.
Sugar maple trees cover the hillsides. Maple syrup
production begins in the early Spring when the days start to get
warmer but the nighttime temperature drops below freezing. Sap
is gathered from our extensive sugar bush and is then taken to the
sugarhouse to be boiled. This boiling process produces a sweet amber syrup
that is hot packed and sealed to preserve its freshness and rich
maple flavor. Forty gallons of sap are needed to produce
just one gallon of pure maple syrup.
Our fine maple syrup is all natural. Its sweet flavor is
perfect on morning pancakes or corn fritters, grapefruit at lunch
and it is always delicious on ice cream and in hot beverages.
The Gebbie's Maplehurst Farm is owned and operated as a small
family farm. We take great pride in producing fine quality
maple syrup. All of our products are guaranteed for complete
customer satisfaction.
We offer year-round tours of the dairy barn and the sugarhouse
and welcome you to come visit our farm in northern Vermont. |
